Radiation therapy is one of three major anti-cancer treatment modalities along with surgery and chemotherapy. The Radiation Oncology is a discipline of clinical oncology that cures benign and malignant tumors using a linear accelerator that generates high energy radiation or equipment that generates ionizing radiation using radioactive isotope.
Since many factors and conditions must be taken into account when deciding the treatment methods of tumors that develop on human body, radiation therapy has widely been used to cure cancer, sometimes together with other therapeutic methods such as chemotherapy and surgery.
Korea University Radiation Oncology Department fully devotes itself to improving treatment methods and acquiring new therapeutic techniques to treat cancer patients, so that it can ensure quality radiation therapies by minimizing side effects and maximizing therapeutic effects.
